Johann Gottlieb LACHELT was born on 30 March 1841 in Lindenwerder, Kreis Kolmar, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2 He emigrated on 3 May 1870 from Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^2,3 He lived in Utica, Oneida County, NY in 1875.³ Johann lived in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI in 1880.³ He was Lutheran in 1899 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ He and his family were listed in the Communion Records of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the early-1890's. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.² Johann died on 12 January 1905 at the age of 63 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,3 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Johann Gottlieb LACHELT and Ernestine PASSERT were married in 1864 in Gollantsch, Kreis Wongrowitz, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,4,5 (Her maiden name is listed as "Passert" in the church Confirmation Records.) (According to the 1900 Census, they had 12 children, of whom 8 were living at the time.) Ernestine PASSERT was born on 28 March 1842 in Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,6,7,8,9 (Her surname was listed as "Passert" in the baptism records of all of her children. Another source listed it as "Hoffman.")

(She may have been a sister of Caroline Passert, who married Carl Schmidt; they had a daughter named Caroline Wilhelmine Schmidt, who was born 12/6/1878 and baptized 2/2/1879 at St. John's, Ridgeville.) She emigrated in 1871 from Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2 They landed at the port in New York City. She lived in Utica, Oneida County, NY in 1875.³ Ernestine appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ She appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,2 She died on 21 May 1930 at the age of 88 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ Ernestine appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ She was living in the household of Paul Rosenow and was described as his "mother-in-law." She was described as an 86-year-old widow from Germany, who emigrated in 1870. She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

She appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.² Martha died on 5 February 1968 at the age of 84.³
