She appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ She was confirmed on 24 March 1872 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Matilda appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ She was living with her parents. She lived at her home in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI in January 1883.⁹

Mathilde "Matilda" LINKE and Johann "John" EIRSCHELE Sr. were married on 4 November 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,9,14 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Johann "John" EIRSCHELE Sr., son of Johann EIRSCHELE and Clara SACHOMEL, was born on 27 January 1855 in Rothsdorf, Austria.^9,31 (The church record of his burial lists his birth date as 3 Jan 1859.)

(His surname is spelled "Jierschela" in the church record of his marriage, and as "Girsele" in the baptism record of his daughter Sophia. His descendants now spell it "Eirschele.")

(In the church record of his marriage to Mathilde Linke, his parents names are listed as "John Jierschela" and "Clara Zochomiller." In the record of his death, they are listed as "Johann Girsele" and "Clara Sachomel."
