The 1920 and 1930 Census' listed his and his parents' birthplace as "Sauk," Austria and his language as German. He emigrated in January 1909 from Albania.2,4,6 His emigration year appears to be 1902 in the 1910 Census, but it is listed as 1909 in the 1920 and 1930.

An Anton Mack, age 22, is listed on the passenger manifest of the S.S. La Bretagne, which sailed from the port of Havre on 10 Feb 1905 and arrived in New York on 19 Feb 1905. His nationality was German, his occupation was Laborer, he was able to read and write, his last residence was Paris, and his destination was Stambaugh. He was traveling alone and his destination was the home of his uncle, Frank Kubb (?), at P.O. Box 7. Because of his age and destination, that may have been him.. He was naturalized on 12 February 1909 in Iron Mountain, Dickinson County, MI.3 Anton appeared in the census in 1910 in Stambaugh, Stambaugh Township, Iron County, MI.6 He was living in the household of Frank Drowinski, age 40, on Williams Street and his occupation was "Miner, Iron Mine." He was listed as a "Partner." His brother Thomas also lived in the household.
