She emigrated in 1883 from Preussen (Prussia).² She appeared in the census in 1900 in Wells Township, Monroe County, WI.² She and her husband were living with her parents.

Pauline "Lena" MARTIN and Mathias "Matt" LUTZ were married on 5 October 1897 in Monroe County, WI.^1,14 Mathias "Matt" LUTZ was born in April 1873 in Preussen (Prussia).² He appeared in the census in 1900 in Wells Township, Monroe County, WI.² He and his wife were living with her parents and his occupation was "Farm Laborer."

Pauline "Lena" MARTIN and Mathias "Matt" LUTZ had the following children:

17	i.	Alfred Benjamin LUTZ was born on 19 January 1900 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.²⁶ He was baptized on 1 April 1900 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.²⁶
18	ii.	Walter Franz LUTZ was born on 11 January 1901.^27,28 He was baptized on 13 January 1901.²⁸ He died on 15 January 1901 at the age of 0.^27,29 Walter was buried on 18 January 1901 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁷ in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
19	iii.	Ralph William LUTZ was born on 13 September 1903 in Bangor, La Crosse County, WI.³⁰ He was baptized on 25 October 1903 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.³⁰
