John MCMULLEN Sr. and Sophia S. WINKELMANN were married on 10 January 1862 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,28,29,30 They^2,28,29,30 were divorced.² Sophia S. WINKELMANN, daughter of Charles WINKELMANN and Eva UNKNOWN (WINKELMANN), was born on 12 March 1836 in New York.^28,31 (Her birth date is recorded as 11 March 1835 in the Oak Grove Cemetery records.) She appeared in the census in 1870 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ (Her age was listed as 30.) She died on 22 January 1910 at the age of 73 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁸ Sophia was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^28,32 in the Oak Grove Cemetery
