234. Howard H. SHUTTER was born on 9 January 1938 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵¹ He died on 13 June 2014 at the age of 76 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵¹

Obituary Notes: "Howard H. Shutter, 76, of Tomah passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at Close to Home in Tomah, after a courageous fight with cancer. Howard was born Jan. 9, 1938, in the Town of Greenfield, Wis., to Harold and Leila (Reekie) Shutter. He married Dorothy Thompson Jan. 9, 1965, at United Methodist Church in Tomah. Howard was born a farmer and continued that tradition his whole life.

Howard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy; brothers, John (Regina) and Gary (Gloria), all of Tomah; brothers and sisters-in law, Robert (Joan) Thompson, Virgil (Mary) Thompson, Donna Thompson and Beverly Noble; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Lorrie and Diane Shutter; mother and father-in-law, Artha and Virginia Thompson; sister-in-law, Sandra Benson; brothers-in-law, Ronald, Norman and David Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at First United Methodist Church in Tomah. Pastor William Swan will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation one hour prior to services Thursday at the church."
