He emigrated about 1844 from Lisnerue, County Down, Northern Ireland.⁶ He emigrated to Rondout, Ulster County, New York. He appeared in the census in 1850 in Kingston Township, Ulster County, NY.⁴ He was living with his mother. Alexander appeared in the census in 1860 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³ His surname was spelled "McMullin" and his occupation was "Farmer." Alexander MCMULLEN and Elizabeth "Eliza" ROWAN were married on 29 April 1852 in Rondout, Kingston Township, Ulster County, NY.^2,6,7 Elizabeth "Eliza" ROWAN, daughter of (Unknown) ROWAN and (Unknown) UNKNOWN (ROWAN), was born about 1830 in Ireland.² She appeared in the census in 1860 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³ She appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ Eliza appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She died on 18 July 1900 at the age of 70 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²
