70. Bernard C. LINENBERG was born on 22 January 1929 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴³ He died on 8 September 2004 at the age of 75 in West Salem, La Crosse County, WI.⁴³

Obituary Notes: "Bernard C. Linenberg, 75, of Tomah, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Lakeview Health Center, West Salem. He was born Jan. 22, 1929, to Christian and Alma (Eirschele) Linenberg at Tomah. He was united in marriage to Carolee Roof on Sept. 5, 1954, in Tomah.

He worked for Sorenson Feed Mill for 42 years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and camping. Bernard was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carolee, of Tomah; eight children, Timothy (Sherri) and Robert (Kathy,) both of Tomah, Lauren (Roger) Fenzau of Big Flats, and Susan (Brian) Habeck, Tammy (Scott) Sparks, Amanda, Michelle and Steven, all of Tomah; 32 grandchildren, Lauren, Ricardo, Marcos, Christopher, Jorge, Malisa, Ashley, Analisha, Timothy, Bradley, Craig, Brittany, Robert, Sarah, Jennifer, Michael, Kayla, Daniel, Derek, Logan, Cody, Angeleah, Tyler, Tiffany, Carolee, Erin, Andrew, Jill, Chandra, Ethan, Hannah, and Destiny; six great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Elizabeth, Ashton, Hailey, Tyler and Landon; a brother, Frederick of Tomah; two sisters, Geraldine (Alvin) Jacob of Tomah and Grace Lewis of Mississippi; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gordon and Duane.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 310 W. Elizabeth St., Tomah. Pastor William C. Rice and Pastor Martha J. Hampton will officiate. Burial with military honors by Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201 will be in Greenfield Cemetery at Tunnel City.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service."

Bernard C. LINENBERG and Carolee ROOF were married on 5 July 1954 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴³ Carolee ROOF was born on 23 February 1934 in Elroy, Plymouth Township, Juneau County, WI.⁷⁴ She died on 12 June 2023 at the age of 89.⁷⁴ Obituary Notes: "Carolee Linenberg, 89, of Tomah died Monday, June 12, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Carolee was born February 23, 1934 to Timothy and Roselyn (Morris) Roof in Elroy, Wisconsin. Her family moved to Tarr Valley where she attended country school.

She was a member of the Tomah Senior High Class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Bernard Linenberg on September 5, 1954 in Tomah. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2004. Together this union brought 8 children, who were the light of her life. She and Bernard fostered children as well, of which 3 were adopted.

Carolee enjoyed playing bingo, camping and picnics. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, when her family would gather at the VFW hall in Tomah and she would provide truck loads of gifts to her loved ones. Seeing her family happy brought Carolee tremendous joy.

Those who knew and love her would describe Carolee as kind, loving and supportive; never missing an event for her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren. She had a strong faith, reading her bible daily and never saying a curse word.

She is survived by 8 children, Timothy (Sherri), Robert (Kathy), Lauren (Roger) Fenzau, Susan (Brian) Habeck, Tammy (Scott) Sparks, Amanda (Shaun) Claussen, Michelle Linenberg and Steven (Gina) Linenberg, all of Tomah.
