Emilie Auguste Mathilde NEITZEL was born on 18 April 1858 in Boltenhagen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (West Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).² She died on 7 April 1887 at the age of 28 in Monroe County, WI.^2,9 She was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ in the South Ridge Cemetery.

Emilie Auguste Mathilde NEITZEL and Johann August Friedrich Wilhelm "August" WITTE were married on 25 September 1881 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.^15,24,25,26 Their witnesses were Ferdinand Waege and Frederich Witt, his older brother. Johann August Friedrich Wilhelm "August" WITTE²⁷, son of Christian Frederich WITTE and Dorothea Louise KRAUSE, was born on 12 May 1842 in Sassenhagen, Kreis Saatzig, Regierungsbezirk Stettin, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^5,9,15 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ The three children in the 1880 Census were from his first marriage. In September 1881 he was a farmer in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ August appeared in the census in 1900 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ He died before 1910 at the age of 68.⁶ His wife, Bertha, was listed as a widow in the 1910 Census.

He appeared in the census in 1930 in Glendale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ He was living with his brother Herbert and his step-mother Martha.
