Charles Wesley KENYON (`) (~) was born on 29 August 1837 in Yates Township, Orleans County, NY.7,14 He appeared in the census in 1860 in Yates Township, Orleans County, NY.15 He served in the military in 1862 in New York.8,16,17,18 He enlisted in the Union Army and served in the Eighth New York Heavy Artillery. He was later transferred to the Twenty-fifth New York Infantry, and served until the close of the war, as corporal of his regiment. He was wounded at the Battle of Chancellorsville and taken prisoner. After a period of confinement in Libby Prison he was exchanged, and it was while he was home on a furlough that General Lee surrendered.

Beginning in August 1878, he received a pension of $2 per month for "wound, one foot."

Following the close of the war he connected himself with the Grand Army of the Republic, and was a member of Tomah Post, Tomah, Wisconsin.

He was pictured with the Civil War Veterans of Tomah, WI, in 1890. After 1865 Charles was a postmaster, justice of the peace and township assessor in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.8 He appeared in the census in 1870 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.15 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.19 His occupation was "Farmer." In 1897 Charles was a farmer in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI. He owned a 150-acre farm in Sections 4 and 5. He died on 4 March 1910 at the age of 72 in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.14,20 in the Greenfield Cemetery. He was buried in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.21 in the Greenfield Township Cemetery.

Charles Wesley KENYON (`) (~) and Adelaide Fredora "Aunty Ad" PURDY were married on 25 July 1859 in Lyndonville, Yates Township, Orleans County, NY.7,14,22,23,24 Adelaide Fredora "Aunty Ad" PURDY, daughter of Daniel Crane PURDY and Hezekiah M. GOULD, was born on 20 July 1843 in Allen, Allegany County, NY.7,14,23 She appeared in the census in 1850 in Royalton Township, Niagara County, NY.15 She appeared in the census in 1860 in Yates Township, Orleans County, NY.15 Aunty Ad appeared in the census in 1870 in Yates Township, Orleans County, NY.15 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.19 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She was living with her son, Louie, at the time of the Census. Aunty Ad died on 10 April 1928 at the age of 84 in Monroe County, WI.14,24 She was buried in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.14,21 in the Greenfield Cemetery.
