Coming to America in 1895 with his parents, brothers and sisters, they settled in Norwalk. After his marriage in 1915 to Lillian Pergande, they farmed near Wilton. In 1947 they moved to Tomah, where he enjoyed the remainder of his life. He made a host of friends by his cheerful disposition and willingness to help those in need. Mr. Brandau's chief interest was auctioneering, which he had retired from due to ill health. Interment will be in the South Ridge Cemetery, Wilton."
