Harold Richard ALBRECHT was born on 10 January 1915 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.84,152,425 He was baptized on 21 February 1915 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.479 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.109 Harold appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.143 He died on 14 November 1944 at the age of 29 in France.54,425 Harold was killed in action in the Army in France during World War II. He was a member of the 95th Infantry Division under General Patton, and had been overseas approximately 2 1/2 years. He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.219,425 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Harold Richard ALBRECHT and Elda May WALLACE were married in 1942.425,572,573 Elda May WALLACE, daughter of Lewis D. WALLACE and Minnie S. PETERSON, was born on 1 March 1922 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.152,573 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.143 She died on 21 July 2011 at the age of 89 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.573

Obituary Notes: "Elda M. Lawrence, age 89, Tomah, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Mayo Clinic Healthcare Center in Sparta. She was born March 1, 1922, to Lew and Minnie (Peterson) Wallace in Oakdale. Elda was united in marriage to Harold Albrecht in 1942; he died in World War II in 1944.

On June 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Durward Lawrence. She worked as a U.S. postal clerk at Fort McCoy. Elda was a talented seamstress and artist; she especially enjoyed liquid painting. In her earlier years she was very proud to have helped her children in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. More than anything she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Durward; children Danny (Donna) Albrecht and Timothy (Rosemary) Lawrence, both of Tomah; a son-in-law, Jerold Stouffer of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lew and Minnie; a son, Steven; a daughter, Annette; and a sister, Lona Inman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 4 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. A private family burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are invited for visitation Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah."
