Johann Friederich "John" BREHMER Jr. was born on 7 August 1870 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^{54,57,62,77,84,85} (The 1880 Census listed his age as 7, which means he would have been born about 1873. That was erroneous.) (His surname was spelled "Brahmer" in his obituary and in a newspaper notice regarding the settlement of his estate.) He was baptized on 13 September 1870 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷⁷ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁷ John was confirmed on 29 March 1885 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷⁷ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁸ He was living with his parents. He was Lutheran in 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷² and was listed on the Membership Roster of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. John appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶² He was living in the household of his brother Frank. He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²²⁵ His household was located at 1213 Superior Avenue in the 2nd Ward. His occupation was not clear, but appears to be "Bartender." He died on 30 October 1925 at the age of 55.^54,84 Obituary Notes: "John Brahmer was born in the town of Ridgeville, August 7, 1870 and died Oct. 30, 1925 at the age of 55 years and 2 months and 23 days. On April 14, 1901, he was married at Ridgeville to Lillie Rassow, town of Tomah, who preceded him in death in March 1907. To them were born one child, Miles, now living in Beloit, Wis.

On August 28, 1917 he was married to Violet Howie of Tomah. To this union were born two children, both of whom passed away in infancy.

Besides his wife and son, of near kin that remains, there are two sisters, Mrs. Gust Hoffman of Lane S.D., and Mrs. August Affeldt of Fessender, N. D., and two brothers, Frank and Henry, both of Tomah."

Johann Friederich "John" BREHMER Jr. and Ottillie Wilhelmine Auguste "Lillie" ROSSOW were married on 14 April 1901 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^{54,84,150,226,227} (His surname is spelled "Bremer" in the Monroe County marriage registration index.) Ottillie Wilhelmine Auguste "Lillie" ROSSOW, daughter of (Unknown) ROSSOW and Caroline UNKNOWN (ROSSOW), was born on 6 June 1881 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^{58,113,226,227,228} (Her surname is listed as "Rosenow" in some sources and as "Rossow" in her husband's obituary; but her and her mother's surnames are clearly spelled "Rassow" in the church record of her marriage. It is believed to have been spelled "Rossow" because there were many families with that surname in Wisconsin in the 1880 and 1900 Census records, but none with the spelling of "Rassow.")

(The 1880 Census for Milwaukee contains the household of Carl and Caroline Rossow and their four children, Otto, Wilhelmine, Ida and Wilhelm. He was age 40 and she was age 26, and both were born in Prussia. That may have been her parents and siblings.)

(She may have been born in 1880.) She died on 22 February 1907 at the age of 25 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^58,226 She was buried on 26 February 1907 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.²²⁶ in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

They^54,84 were divorced before October 1925.²²⁹ Violet HOWIE, daughter of Robert HOWIE and Agnes ALEXANDER, was born on 21 November 1891 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^{37,225,229,230,231} She appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²²⁵ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²²⁵ Violet died of hypertensive cardiovascular disease on 4 November 1951 at the age of 59 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.^37,229,231 Her death certificate indicates that she has a "cerebravascular accident." She was buried on 7 November 1951 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^37,229,231 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
