Roderick Richardson had a house build there by 1817. In 1831 he built a store next door. The building was damaged by fire in 1845 and the present two-story brick structure was built. It is not the Masonic Hall. In 1851, Richardson also moved a building from Irasville to the corner diagonally across from the Masonic Hall. This large building became a hotel.
