157 | ii. | Jo Ann GRIFFIN (`) (~) was born on 23 September 1951 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.117 She died on 6 October 2014 at the age of 63 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.117 Obituary Notes: "Jo Ann Griffin, 63, of Tomah died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Serenity House, Tomah. She was born Sept. 23, 1951, to Virgil and Myrtle Elaine (Shaw) Griffin in Sparta. Jo Ann worked for various local businesses some of which were Toro and Fort McCoy. She relocated to the Tennessee and Mississippi areas, where she was employed by the government as a TSA employee for many years, retiring last year and moving back to Tomah. Jo Ann was looking forward to her retirement but unfortunately was diagnosed with advance stage breast cancer. Although her prognosis was poor, Jo Ann remained positive and determined to live life. She had a strong and determined personality and loved unconditionally. The joy of her life was her family and in times of despair she drew strength from them. In her spare time, Jo Ann enjoyed doing crafts, especially cross stitch and crocheting. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children, Angel (Mike) Riendl of Onalaska and Kevin Havard of Nashville, Tenn.; her mother, Elaine Hatch of Tomah; a sister, Mary Ostlie of Tomah; nieces, Shelly (Greg) Schissel of Dousman, Karla (Dan) Widzins of Tomah, Amie Griffin of Wichita, Kan., LeAnn Meyer of Mondovi, Roberta Griffin of Tomah; great-nephews, Nick (Morgan) Widzins of Tomah, Kevalee Meyer of Mondovi; and great-great-nephews, Ryan and Nolan Widzins of Tomah; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil; a granddaughter, Hope; two brothers, Thomas and Robert Griffin; a nephew, Justin Griffin; and her stepdad, William “Bill” Hatch." . |
