Descendants of Andrew Oakley

Andrew Oakley and his wife Sarah were born in the New York Colony of British Colonial America in about 1776. They were the parents of Edward Oakley, who was born in 1804. He and his wife, Polly Wier, had five children.

One of them. Nehemiah “Myron” Oakley arrived in Greenfield Township in the 1870’s. Nehemiah had married Fannie Helena Woodard in 1852 in Canada and they had twelve children. The children married into families such as Purdy, Brown and Griffin.

Almost all of the Oakley families in Monroe County descended from Nehemiah and Fannie.
