Obituary Notes: "Dwaine Harley Griffin, 76, died July 22, 2007 at the Serenity House, Tomah. He was born August 31, 1930 to Delbert and Margaret (Ryckman) in Tomah. He was united in marriage to Darlene Doris Janusheske on Jan 21, 1955 in Tomah.

They farmed in Purdy Valley for many years. He also worked at Fort McCoy. Dwaine enjoyed snowmobiling, because the farmland joined Fort McCoy on occasion he rode his snowmobile to work. He milked cows while working at Fort McCoy. He had a passion for being outdoors, he especially enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. He retired from Fort McCoy in 1986 as a heavy equipment operator with 30 years of federal service, in 1986 he also retired the dairy herd. He purchased horses and began raising and trading horses. In April of 1997 he sold all the horses, and at his son Dean’s suggestion purchased a gas feed ride. He enjoyed traveling, especially the trips he took out West. He served in the U.S. Army between 1951 and April of 1953 and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Country Western Association, he enjoyed dancing and was also a member of the Wisconsin Diary Association.

He is survived by his son Dean (Julie) of Warrens, a daughter Dixie Lea Dettinger of Tomah, 4 grandchildren Reed David and Dylan Lee Griffin, Jay Dee and Justin Allen Dettinger, special friend and companion Norma Cook of Tomah, and special friend Darlene Griffin of Tomah, 2 brothers Harley (Ruby) Griffin of LaFarge, and Lloyd (Francis) Griffin of Tomah, 6 sisters Lydia Helmich (Francis Burk) of Sparta, Darlene Schroeder of Tomah, Margie Maack, Eileen Clark, and Lois (Jerry) Kanable of Elkhart, IN, and Audrey Graham of LaCrosse, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Mark Steven and Clint Edward, a daughter, Dawn Deanna, his parents, 2 sisters, Beverly Tessman and Joyce Griffin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 11 a.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Todd Fanta will officiate. Burial will be in the LaGrange Cemetery, town of LaGrange with military honors by Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home and at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m.. until the time of the service."

Dwaine was buried on 25 July 2007 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.22 in the LaGrange Township Cemetery.

Dwaine Harley GRIFFIN (`) (~) and Darlene Doris JANUSHESKE were married on 21 January 1955 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.22,111 Darlene Doris JANUSHESKE, daughter of Joseph J. JANUSHESKE and Ethel Ella PINGEL, was born about 1937.154 She graduated in 1955 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.154,182 from Tomah High School.
