Mathilda Adeline Caroline "Matilda" TOPEL was born on 7 January 1869 in Stojentin, Kreis Stolp, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).2,18 She emigrated about 1874 from Stojentin, Kreis Stolp, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).18 Historical Society Article: "Mathilda came to the United States with her parents while she was a small child. At first they made their home in Chicago, Illinois and at Hustisford, Wisconsin, and finally they settled on a farm in the Township of Wellington, Monroe County, in the community of South Ridge. There she was instructed in the Lutheran faith." She appeared in the census in 1880 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.3 Matilda was confirmed on 18 March 1883 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.18 She was confirmed at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church by Reverend Julius Badke. She appeared in the census in 1920 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.20 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.17 Matilda died on 18 June 1943 at the age of 74 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.2,18 Historical Society Article: "She had a stroke a few weeks before she died at her home with her daughter, Bertha Adams." She was buried after 18 June 1943 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.5,18 in the St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, South Ridge.

Mathilda Adeline Caroline "Matilda" TOPEL and Carl "Charles" RADLOFF were married on 11 October 1885 in Monroe County, WI.2,18,19 Carl "Charles" RADLOFF, son of Karl Friedrich Wilhelm RADLOFF and Caroline STEFFAN, was born in January 1858 in Amalienhof, Cammin, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).18 He emigrated in 1866 from Preussen (Prussia).55 He appeared in the census in 1870 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.56 Charles appeared in the census in 1880 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.3 He was living with his parents and his occupation was "Works on Farm." After 1886 he was a farmer in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.18 Carl and Mathilda Radloff settled on a farm in the Township of Wellington, Monroe County, in the community of South Ridge, next door to the Topels (Mathilda's parents). Carl disappeared some time after the last child was born, and nobody knows what happened to him. Mathilda stayed on the farm until 1920 and raised her children. He died before 1920 at the age of 62.20
