Obituary Notes: "Elmer J. Pasch, Sr., 94, of the town of Clifton, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at the Serenity House, Tomah.

He was born Feb. 27, 1917, to August and Minnie (Pahl) Pasch Jr. at Dorset Ridge. He was baptized into the Christian faith in April 1917 and confirmed in June 1930. Elmer attended the Dorset Ridge Elementary School.

He was united in marriage to Dolores A. Deichler June 2, 1943, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Indian Creek, by the Rev. Frederic Gilbert. She preceded him in death Oct. 29, 1997.

Elmer farmed most of his life in the town of Clifton. He was a Gideon member for several years and always was encouraging others to read the word of God. As a younger man, Elmer taught himself how to make and fix TVs. He made a TV which was the family’s first. He went from home to home fixing TVs for others. He raised chickens for many years and delivered eggs to the Hustler Home. Neighbors and many people from all over stopped to buy eggs. He called them his “miracle eggs.” Each spring and summer he had a goal to bale hay, help with the tilling and planting and help Sonny on the farm. He did just that until this past summer. He sure enjoyed his Kawasaki “mule,” which provided him with transportation from house to barn and then some.

He welcomed his many Amish friends and neighbors who visited him often. He always offered ice cream and ice cream bars and wanted to feed all visitors and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to visit. His faith carried him through many trials and illnesses, and he had survived so many miracles; he gave the glory to the Lord. He survived many miracles in his life and shared them with all who would listen, and he gave all the glory to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by two sons, Elmer “Sonny” Pasch Jr. and Jeffery (Mary) Pasch, both of Clifton; five daughters, Evelyn Hicks (Dick Carle) of New Lisbon, Carolyn (Ron) Finstad of Wilton, Judith (formerly Finnigan) (Ron) Stanek of Sparta and Grace (David) Faulkner and Cindy (Tom) Eder, both of Tomah; 114 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; five nephews and a niece; many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; a son-in-law, Harley Hicks; a great-granddaughter, Amber Rose Ingli; a great-grandson, Tony Ingli; a brother, Alvadore Pasch; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Raymond Gurgel.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 762 W. Clifton St. Tomah. Pastor Kirk Brown officiated. Burial was in the Clifton Cemetery.

Relatives and friends called at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah, on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home."
