Maciej "Mathias" PIECHOWSKI (@) was born on 13 February 1829 in Grzybowo, Koscierzyna, Kreis Kolobrzeg, West Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁴ Grzybowo is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kołobrzeg, within Kołobrzeg County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northwestern Poland.  It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) west of Kołobrzeg and 101 km (63 mi) northeast of the regional capital Szczecin.

He emigrated on 27 June 1870 from Bremen, Neidersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁵ He and his family emigrated to New York City on the Argonaut. With him (age 41) were his wife, Marianna (38), and their children Joseph (18), Josephine (11), Pauline (7), Stephan (4) and Valaria (11). He appeared in the census in 1880 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.⁶ His occupation was "Farmer." Mathias appeared in the census in 1900 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.⁷ He and his wife were living with their son Stephan and his family. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.⁸ He and his wife were living with their son Stephan and his family. He died on 21 January 1916 at the age of 86 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.³ Mathias was buried on 24 January 1916 in Alban Township, Portage County, WI.^3,9 in the Saint Adalbert Cemetery.

Maciej "Mathias" PIECHOWSKI (@) and Marianna "Mary" KROPIDLOWSKA (@) were married on 24 July 1849 in Berent, Kreis Berent, Westpreussen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^3,4,10 Marianna "Mary" KROPIDLOWSKA (@)³, daughter of Chrystyan KROPIDLOWSKA and Marianna PIEPIORKA, was born on 15 August 1828 in Plocice, Koscierzyna, Kreis Kolobrzeg, West Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^3,4,9,11 According to the 1930 Census for her son Joseph, she was born in "Poland," which would have been Prussia in the mid- to late-1800's. She emigrated on 27 June 1860 from Bremen, Neidersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁵ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.⁶ Mary appeared in the census in 1900 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.⁷ She appeared in the census in 1910 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.⁸ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Sharon, Stockton Township, Portage County, WI.¹² She was a Widow and was living with her son Stephan and his family. Mary died on 24 December 1926 at the age of 98 in Portage County, WI.^3,9 She was buried in Rosholt, Portage County, WI.⁹ in the Saint Adelbert Cemetery.
