He appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² John was confirmed on 18 April 1886 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.² at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ His occupation was "Farmer, General Farm." He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ John appeared in the census in 1930 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ He and his wife were living with their son Walter. He died on 19 March 1947 at the age of 75.¹⁸ He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Johann Karl "John" PINGEL III and Minnie RUNIONS were married in October 1893.¹⁸ Minnie RUNIONS, daughter of Levi Francis RUNIONS and Mary Jane GIBSON, was born on 28 January 1876 in Minnesota.^7,18 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ Minnie appeared in the census in 1930 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ She died on 26 May 1956 at the age of 80.¹⁸ She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
