Descendants of Johann "John" Pingel, Sr;

Johann “John” Pingel, Sr., and his wife, Maria Elisabeth Dorothea Warnke, were born in Prussia in the early-1800’s. They and their two sons emigrated to America in 1857 and settled in Wilton Township.

Their son John, Jr. married Christiana “Betsy” Fischer and they had eight children. Their other son, Joachim, married Amelia Uttech and they had nine children.

Their grandchildren married into families such as Drowatzky, Rogge, Krake, Liersch, Runions, Thurow, Remus, Gerke and Heineman.

All of the Pingel families in Monroe County descend from Johann and Maria.
