Karl "Charles" WALZ was born on 8 July 1864 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.51 He appeared in the census in 1870 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.5 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.12 Charles appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.14 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.15 His occupation was "Farmer, Farm." He died on 20 April 1940 at the age of 75 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.51

Obituary Notes: "Charles Walz, son of the late John and Maria Walz, was born in the Town
of Ridgevile, Monroe County, Wis., on a farm known as the Walz farm on July 8, 1864 and was summond by the Reaper from his home in Norwalk, April 20, 1940, at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 12 days.

In his youth he attended the public school, and for his life work he chose that of a mason.
He laid many a foundation for houses and barns in this community and also built many a birdge for the railroad. Mr. Walz received Christian training in the home and Evangelical church and Sunday school. He has been a member of the church for many years.

It was in the year 1902, Novermber 30, that Ida Moritz of Elk River, Minn., became his help mate, and thus established a home in Norwalk, Wis. This union was blessed with four children, two of which and his companion preceeded him in death. As a father, he was kind and loving, and in the community he was known by all as Charley.

He leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Schletty of St. Paul, Minn., and Marie at present in a hospital at Madison. Two grandchildren four brothers, Gust of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, George, Sam and Otto of Norwalk, two sisters, Mrs. Alvina Haldeman and Mrs. Sophia Sinner both of Norwalk and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Mr. Charles Walz were held on April 23, 1940 at two o'clock from the Emmanual Evangelical church at Norwalk, the Rev.W. H. Mehn officiating. The body was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Wanderers Rest Cemetery." Charles was buried in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.50 in the Wanderer's Rest Cemetery.

Karl "Charles" WALZ and Ida Auguste Anna MORITZ were married on 30 November 1902.51 Ida Auguste Anna MORITZ was born on 4 October 1878 in Berlin, Brandenburg Province, Preussen (Prussia).51 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.14 She died on 23 January 1930 at the age of 51 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.51

Obituary Notes: "Ida Augusta Anna Moritz was born near Berlin, Germany, Oct. 4, 1878, and departed this life at her home in the village of Norwalk, Thursday, Jan. 23, 1930, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 19 days.

When about two years of age she came with her parents to America and settling near Elk River, Minn., resided there until her marriage in November, 1902, to Charles Walz of Norwalk. To this union four children were born, two dying in infancy, and two daughters,
Evelyn and Marie, survive.

Beside husband and daughters, deceased leaves one sister, Mrs. Carl Schrieber of Minneapolis, and several other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Church of God, Rev. Whitney officiating." Ida was buried in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.20 in the Wanderer's Rest Cemetery.

Marie died in 1946 at the age of 41.20 She was buried in 1946 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.20 in the Wanderer's Rest Cemetery.
