78. Norton E. RAABE⁸⁶ was born on 29 June 1927 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶ He died on 15 November 2006 at the age of 79 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶

Obituary Notes: "Norton E. Raabe, age 79, of Tomah, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. Norton fought a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis before succumbing to his illness. He was born June 29, 1927, to John and Eda (Liersch) Raabe in Wilton. Norton graduated from Wilton High School in 1945 and attended Wartburg College in Iowa for two years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. He was united in marriage to Inez E. Yahnke on June 20, 1951.

Norton started work at the Veterans Administration Medical Center as a nurses aide in 1953 and continued his employment there until he retired in 1982. He also worked many part-time jobs and is mainly remembered as the local bait dealer. Norton was an avid Packer fan. He spent his free time fishing, trapping and hunting. Norton is remembered as a caring father of six and a devoted husband.

He is survived by his wife Inez and his six children, Carol (Joe) Hays of Tomah, Joanne (Jeff) Klinker of New Lisbon, Dennis (Kass) of Stevens Point, Debra (Jeff) Korenic of San Diego CA, Douglas (Deborah) of Tomah and David (Denita) of Steuben; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, on Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service."

Norton E. RAABE and Inez Evelyn YAHNKE were married on 20 June 1951.²⁶ Inez Evelyn YAHNKE⁸⁶, daughter of Clarence Karl Frederick YAHNKE and Evelyn Gertrude KENYON, was born on 12 October 1931 in Monroe County, WI.⁸⁷
