82. Marie A. SCHROEDER was born on 26 October 1926.¹¹⁴ She died on 31 August 2010 at the age of 83 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹⁴

Obituary Notes: "Marie A. Gegenfurtner, age 83, of Tomah, Wis., passed away, Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Sparta, WI. She was born October 26, 1926, to Albert and Alice (Prell) Schroeder. Marie graduated from Tomah High School in 1944. Marie attended the Coleman Institute (now known as Western Technical College) in La Crosse, Wis., and worked at WKTY Radio Station in La Crosse for several years. She married Donald Warren Gegenfurtner in February of 1948. Together they had six children. They lived in La Crosse until 1957, when they moved to the Oakdale/Camp Douglas area and lived on Marie’s parents’ farm. Marie was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Camp Douglas. Marie is survived by her six children, Mark (Sue) Gegenfurtner of Oakdale, Donna Gegenfurtner of La Crosse, Gary (Terri) Gegenfurtner of Clifton, Wis., Richard Gegenfurtner of Tomah, Jean (Jack) Taylor of Wilton, Wis., and Paul (Leovina) Gegenfurtner recently of Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif., and currently living in the Philippines; her sisters and brother, Alice Darby of Rockville, Md., Arthur "Bud" (Loretta) Schroeder of Drasco, Ark., and Nancy Schroeder of Tucson, Ariz.; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010, 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home, Tomah. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale. Family and friends are invited for visitation Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements."
