50. James Allen "Gus" PREUSS was born on 28 July 1952.²² He died on 6 November 2004 at the age of 52.²²

Obituary Notes: "James (Gus) Allen Preuss, 52, of Salem,VA, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2004. He was born on July 28, 1952 and was married on October 23, 1971.

James enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, carpentry, gardening, and spending time with his puppy. He had previously worked as a Firefighter for Ft. McCoy Fire Station in Sparta, Wis., worked in food services for Veterans Affairs in Tomah, Wis., was a self-employed carpenter, was a welder for Walker Stainless in Elroy, Wis., and was an over the road tractor trailer driver. He was presently employed with the Nutrition & Acquisition Department at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Va.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Rebecca of Salem, VA. Cynthia of Raleigh, NC. Timothy of Herndon, VA; parents, Marvin and Audrey Preuss of Elroy, Wis.; mother-in-law, Ellen Bruley of Tomah, Wis.; brothers and sisters, Michael (Maribeth) of Mauston, Wis., Scott of Elroy, Wis., Patti Burnard of Middleton, Wis., Vicki (Wayne) Hanson of Black River Falls, Wis., Cheryl (Bill) Moulis of Portage, Wis., and Carmen (Joe) Zant of Hillsboro, Wis.; brother-in-law, Bob (Dar) Bruley of Lebanon, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Gloria Jean (Rob) Ehlers of Madison, Wis. and Reba (Steve) Kolb of Tomah, Wis.; numerous nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank Pastor Myron and Kim Powell, members of Glenvar Baptist Church, Chapter "K" GWRRA, their Veterans Affairs family and special friend, Leo Stiltner.

Funeral services will be held at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home 801 East Monowau St. Tomah on Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, 11:00 A.M. Richard Bruley will officiate. Burial will be in Oxbow Cemetery in Melrose, WI.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:30 P.M. and on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service."
