23. Marvin Keith PREUSS was born on 17 April 1931 in Elroy, Plymouth Township, Juneau County, WI.²² He died in February 2007 at the age of 75 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.²²

Obituary Notes: "Marvin Keith Preuss, age 75 of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born April 17, 1931 at Elroy to Harry and Hazel (Clark) Preuss. He was united in marriage to Audrey Forbes on Dec. 15, 1951 at Elroy. He farmed in the town of Glendale for several years and later worked for Walker Stainless retired after 18 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Audrey (Forbes) Preuss; 2 sons, Michael (Maribeth) and Scott Preuss both of Elroy; 4 daughters, Patricia Burnard, Middleton, Vickie (Wayne) Hanson, Black River Falls, Cheryl (William) Moulis, Portage and Carmen (Joe) Zant, Hillsboro and a daughter-in-law Julie Preuss, Salem, Virginia,16 grandchildren Becky, Cindy, Tim (Charity), John (Sheila), Cori (Tim), Christine, Chris (Carmen), Luke (Sandy), Jessica, Elisabeth, Alicia, Joseph, Olivia, Emily, Mark and Matthew; 6 great-grandchildren, Noah, Kali, Maggie, Sebastian, Pad Mae and Cielin., 2 sisters, Elaine (Norbert) Popp, Kendall and Irene (Wilfred) Nelson, Mauston; sisters-in-law, Gretchen Scoles, WY and June Forbes, Elroy. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. He is also survived by his faithful dog “Bess.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his son James Preuss in 2004, brothers Roger and Ronald "Bud", sisters, Lois Nelson and Dorothy Eckelberg; brothers-in-law, Henry Chard, Ray Eckelberg, Erling Nelson, Gordon Scoles and John Forbes.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 226 Erickson St., Elroy, WI on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wesley Dunbar officiating. Burial will be at the Elroy City Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 23 and again at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements."
He was buried on 24 February 2007 in Elroy, Plymouth Township, Juneau County, WI.²² in the Elroy City Cemetery.
