Descendants of Michael Prochnow

Michael Prochnow and his wife, Anna Christina Marten, were born in Kreis (County) Filehne in the Posen Province of Prussia in the late-1780's.

Their son Johann Samuel Prochnow married Wilhelmine Schulz in 1856 and they had a son and a daughter before emigrating to America in 1881. They also brought Wilhelmine’s son and daughter from an earlier marriage.

The four children married into families such as Krueger, Fischer, Bungert and Buchholz.

All of the Prochnow families in Monroe County are believed to have descended from Michael and Anna.
