Obituary Notes: "Albert W. Jilek, 64, of Tomah died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse. He was born Nov. 18, 1949, to George and Bernice (Gage) Jilek in Sparta. He was a member of the Tomah High School Graduating Class of 1968.

On May 13, 1972, Albert was united in marriage to Dianne Gilmore at St. James Catholic Church. In March of 1979, Albert started working for Exopack/Coveris Manufacturing as an assistant press operator for 35 years. On April 29, 2000, Albert was united in marriage to Merilyn Sullivan at the Sullivan family farm.

Albert was the ultimate family man. He would drop everything and come to the rescue whenever needed. The funny thing is there seemed to always be a need for his superhero help, rather it was helping fix one of the girls cars or put a worm on the hook, just to turn around and take the fish off. Albert was always up for a good time. There wasn’t a wedding where Albert wasn’t the life of the party on the dance floor. He was the constant funny man. You knew he loved you by how much he picked on you, and boy did he razz his kids and grandkids. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and so many friends.

He is survived by four children, Sherry Jilek of Galesville, Susan Jilek of Tomah, Vicki (Eric) Kruse of Bangor and Noah Jilek of Tomah; five grandchildren, Gordon Smith, Alyssa Kruse, Elliot Kruse, Sierra Smith and Eion Kruse; six brothers and sisters, George Jilek of Richland Center, Robert Jilek of Tomah, Dennis (Margaret) Jilek of Camp Douglas, Charlotte Anderson of Camp Douglas, Donna Ducklow of Tomah, Daniel (Gretchen) Jilek of Tomah, and Edward (Betty) Jilek of Tomah. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 315 W. Monroe St., Tomah. Mnsgnr. Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery, Camp Douglas."
