Descendants of Amos Richardson

Amos Richardson was born in England in 1623 and emigrated to America in 1639. He and his wife, Mary Smith, are the earliest-known ancestors of the Richardson family members that eventually lived in the Massachusetts, Conecticut and Vermont colonies.

One of his 6th great-granddaughters, Rachel Cordelia Richardson, married Lucius Smith Griggs in Washington County, Vermont in 1841. They moved to Wisconsin in the 1850's, first settling in La Crosse County and then moving to Tomah in the 1860's.

Lucius owned the town's first drug store, which eventually became Rexall Drugs.
