2. Ernst Heinrich "Henry" ROGGE Jr. was born on 20 May 1835 in Hanover, Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).2,3,4

He may have been a brother of Francis Rogge, who was listed in the 1870 Census in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI. Francis was age 37 (born about 1833), occupation "Teamster," and also born in Hanover. He and his wife, Catherine, and their four children lived in the 2nd Ward in La Crosse. He emigrated in 1857 from Hanover, Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,3,5,6 He emigrated from Bremen and arrived in New York on 5 June 1857. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.7 His surname was listed as "Rogga" and his occupation was "Farmer." Henry served in the military before 1880.8 He received a pension of $6 per month after March 1881 for "wound of scalp; residual disease of brain." He appeared in the census in 1880 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.9 His occupation was "Farmer." He appeared in the census in 1900 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.10 His surname was listed as "Rogga" and his occupation was "Farmer." Henry appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.6 His household was on Superior Avenue in the 1st Ward. He died on 18 May 1911 at the age of 75 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.2 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.11 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Johanna "Hannah" ROESLER was born on 11 January 1846 in Ostrov, Karlovy Vary Region, Czechoslovakia.1,7,10,11,13 (The 1870 Census listed her birth place as Austria, as did the 1930 Census for her sons Ernst and William.) She emigrated in 1864 from Preussen (Prussia).6,10 She appeared in the census in 1870 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.7 Hannah appeared in the census in 1880 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.9 She appeared in the census in 1900 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.10 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.6 Hannah died on 4 May 1919 at the age of 73 in Wisconsin.1,11 She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.11 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
