He was baptized on 4 July 1886 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was confirmed on 8 April 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁸ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
