Descendants of Christian Friedrich Rosenow, Sr.

Christian Friedrich Rosenow, Sr. and his wife, Charlotte Goldbeck, were born in the Kannenberg area of the Pommern Province of Prussia in the 1780's. One of their sons, Michael, and his wife, Dorothea Sophia Ratzlaff, were also born there in the early-1800’s.

One of the four sons of Michael and Dorothea, Wilhelm Friedrich Rosenow, emigrated to America and settled in Monroe County, where he married Ottilie Kuhn. Their descendants married into families such as Preuss, Nicke, Roscovius, Marten and Parlow.

It is possible that Christian was related to Gottlieb Rosenow, who was born in the same area in 1785. He and his wife, Demuth Marquardt, had a son, Ernst, who married Dorothea Marquardt and eventually emigrated to Ridgeville Township.
