She was adopted about 1929 in Illinois.10,45 Her mother died when she was about four years old, and her father gave her up for adoption by William and Elsie Wettengel, who raised her until she married in 1944.

Obituary Notes: "Willmae Rockey, 86, of rural Serena, died Monday night, April 30, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with the Rev. Greg Nicholl, Hospice Chaplain, and Elder Richard Konow, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Willmae was born on May 28, 1925, in Lombard, to William and Elsie (Grant) Wettengel. She married Paul Rockey on June 10, 1944 in LaMoille. She was a lifetime member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was very active in the church alongside her husband, where he served as pastor for many years, and was active with their prison ministry.

She is survived by a daughter, Paula (Ray) Bailey, of Ottawa, 4 grandchildren, Raymond (Niki) Bailey, Michelle Goodlet, Kelly Huftel and Lee (Renae) Berggren, 7 great grandchildren, a son in law, Tim Berggren and caregivers, Irene and Irena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on November 12, 2004, and a daughter, Patricia Berggren.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Bailey, Lee , Jacob, and Jayce Berggren, Dalton Huftel and Brandy Goodlet. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Regional Hospital Hospice or Donor's Choice."

Newspaper Article: "Paul and Willmae (Wettengel) Rockey of Serena recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married June 10, 1944, in LaMoille by Elder I.E. Turner. The wedding party included Roy Scheidecker and Doris Chalus.

Parents of the couple were the late George and Dora Rockey and the late William and Elsie Wettengel. The Rockeys are the parents of two children, Patty (Tim) Berggren of Serena and Paula (Ray) Bailey of Ottawa. The couple also have four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Rockey is retired from Moline Consumers as an operating engineer.

The couple will be honored at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. June 27 at Serena Township Hall hosted by their daughters. Gifts are to be omitted."

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Elder Richard Konow and the Rev. Alec Bailes officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Rockey was born on May 12, 1925, in Ottawa to George and Dora (Galloway) Rockey. He married Willmae Wettengel on June 10, 1944, in LaMoille. He was a retired operating engineer and a minister in the Ottawa Fundamental Restoration Branch, and officiated at the Ottawa Wedding Chapel. He was an Army Corps veteran of World War II. He also served on the Serena School Board and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 150.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Patricia (Tim) Berggren of Serena, and Paula (Ray) Bailey of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Raymond Bailey, Michelle Goodlet, Kelly Huftel, and Lee Berggren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred (Pearl) Rockey of rural Serena. He was preceded in death by a brother, George.

Pallbearers will be Tim Berggren, Ray and Raymond Bailey, Rick Huftel, Lee Berggren, and Francis Rockey. Memorials may be directed to the Ottawa Fundamental Restoration Branch."
