Charles Blackvilles RYDER was born on 18 October 1857 in Waukesha County, WI.^2,12,13 He lived at his family home in Oconomowoc Township, Waukesha County, WI in June 1860.¹² He appeared in the census in 1870 in Big Flats Township, Adams County, WI.⁵ Charles appeared in the census in 1880 in Yellow Bank Township, Lac Qui Parle, MN.³¹ He and his wife lived next door to William and Lewis Vandervort. He died on 26 April 1883 at the age of 25 in Irving Township, Jackson County, WI.^1,2,8,13,14

Charles Blackvilles RYDER and Jennie Alice BREWER were married on 24 December 1879 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,23,32 at the LaGrange Parsonage. Jennie Alice BREWER was born on 18 June 1860 in Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY.^13,31 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Yellow Bank Township, Lac Qui Parle, MN.³¹ She died on 31 December 1949 at the age of 89 in Battle Creek Township, Calhoun County, MI.¹³ Jennie was buried in Pennfield Township, Calhoun County, MI.¹³
