He appeared in the census in 1850 in Dorset, Bennington County, VT.¹¹⁵ He appeared in the census in 1860 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³¹ Orlando served in the military after July 1862.¹¹⁶ He is listed on the 1890 Veterans Schedule as having served as a Lieutenant for more then three years in Company D, 64th Regiment. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁵ His occupation was listed as "Barber." He appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³³ His occupation was listed as "Hotel Keeper." Orlando died on 28 March 1889 at the age of 45 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^112,113 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹⁷ (He is reportedly buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery with his wives matilda, Nellie and Elna, although cemetery records do not list them.)
