Descendants of Julius Johann Carl Schamens, Sr.

Julius Johann Karl Schamens, Sr. and his wife, Johanna Caroline Schroeder, were born in Brandenburg Province, Prussia in the early-1800’s. His first wife had died sometime before 1880.
Julius and Johanna and his four children emigrated to America in the 1880’s. It is believed that they received financial assistance from Charles "Carl" Schwandt, Johanna's son from an earlier marriage.

The children of Julius eventually married into Monroe County families such as Marten, Giese, Davis, Hahn, Guse and Baumbach.
All of the Schamens families in Monroe County descend from Julius and Johanna.
