Obituary Notes: "Darlene J. Lemmons, 84, of Tomah and formerly of Hustler, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010. at her home in Tomah. She was born Aug. 7, 1926, to Edwin and Rosella (Schmasow) Kuehl in Tomah. She was united in marriage Horace N. Lemmons on April 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1996. After retirement from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center-Tomah. Together they bought an elementary school which they converted into a bowling alley and named the Hooterbowl in Hustler. She was a member of the Laureate Theta Tomah Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church for many years. She is survived by a son Stephen (Deanne) Lemmons of Tomah; a daughter Jody (Stephen) Floryance of New Berlin; five grandchildren Stephen Jr., Christopher, Shawndee, Andrew Floryance, and Allison; a great-grandson Mason; three brothers, Roland Kuehl of Tomah, Gerald (Janice) Kuehl and David Kuehl, both of Helenville; a sister Jeanette (Robert) Bolton of Tomah; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son Todd; a brother Gary; two sisters Joyce Kelley and Lois Shattuck; and an infant brother Donald. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Following the graveside service, A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held Friday at 2:30 at the TeePee Supper Club in Tomah."
