Leo John BLASKEY was born on 6 August 1915 in Monroe County, WI.11,17 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.11 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.13 Leo died on 8 February 2007 at the age of 91 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.16

Obituary Notes: "Leo John Blaskey, age 91, of Oakdale, WI, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. He was born on Aug. 6, 1915, to Wenzel and Mary (Schmeider) Blaskey at home in the Township of Oakdale. Leo attended Indian Creek School until the 8th grade.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Mary Miller on June 28, 1955, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kendall; she preceded him in death in 2002.

Leo was a farmer and enjoyed his huge garden. He enjoyed helping other people and never would admit his age. He loved animals, especially his pet cats. Leo worked at Oakdale Electric Co-op from 1946 until his retirement in 1980.

Leo was one of the first members of the Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department as a nuzzleman from 1946 to 1968, but still helped out when needed.

He is survived by his children, Judith (Francis) Walter of Neillsville, Jean, Christine and Grace Blaskey, all of Oakdale, and Steven Blaskey of Cashton; grandchildren, Allan, Joseph, Caroline, Michael and Rose Walter, all of Neillsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mayme Felber, Mabel Blaskey, Mae Miller, Wenzel Blaskey III and Joseph Blaskey.

Funeral services were held today (Monday), Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Indian Creek. Father John Ofori-Domah officiated. Burial followed in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends called on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with rosary at 5 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah and today from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Leo John BLASKEY and Margaret Mary MILLER were married on 28 June 1955 in Kendall, Glendale Township, Monroe County, WI.16 Margaret Mary MILLER, daughter of John MILLER and Christina UNKNOWN (MILLER), died in 2002.14

Jean Mary BLASKEY was born on 27 June 1956 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.41 She died on 18 January 2023 at the age of 66 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.41 Obituary Notes: "Jean Mary Blaskey, age 66, of Oakdale, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Tomah Health. She was born to Leo and Margaret (Miller) Blaskey on June 27, 1956 along with her twin sister Judy. They were the first set of twins to be born at the then new Tomah Memorial Hospital.
Jean grew up in Oakdale and attended Oakdale and Tomah area schools and was a lifetime member of St. Michaels Catholic Church at Indian Creek.

Jean enjoyed going places, eating out at her favorite place – Burger King, traveling to Missouri to see family, animals especially dogs and cats with Buckles being her favorite cat. Country music was her favorite and being able to attend several Tom Wopat concerts. Summer was her favorite time of year, being outside and enjoying the weather. It gave her a chance to get on her riding lawn mower and mow the yard whether it needed it or not.
Jean is survived by her older brother, Steven and youngest sister, Grace – "Hon" as she always called her. A brother-in-law, Francis Walter, two nephews, (Cody) and Rose, two great nephews, Brayden and Conner and a great niece, Adalynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Margaret, two sisters, Judy Walter and Christine Blaskey and a nephew, Allan Walter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 11:30 a.m. at St. Michaels at Indian Creek. Father Robert Letona will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to conclude at 6:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for a visitation on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements."

Christine BLASKEY was born on 9 January 1958 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.42 She died on 28 December 2017 at the age of 59 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.

Obituary Notes: "Christine H. Blaskey, 59, of Oakdale passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at the Mayo Healthcare Center in La Crosse.

She was born Jan. 9, 1958, at the Tomah Memorial Hospital to Leo and Margaret (Miller) Blaskey. Christine attended Oakdale Elementary School and Tomah High School. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church.
Christine enjoyed cooking, baking, eating out every Sunday, shopping and traveling to Missouri, to visit family.

She is survived by her siblings, Steven of Kendall, Judy (Francis) Walter of Queen City, Mo., Jean Blaskey and Grace Blaskey (Gary White) of Oakdale; her nieces and nephews, Allan of Onalaska, Joe of Queen City, Caroline of Kirksville, Mo., Michael and Rose of Queen City; one great-nephew, Brayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Margaret; her grandparents, Wenzel and Mary Blaskey and John and Christina Miller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Indian Creek. Father Letona will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
