He was born Oct. 20, 1959, to Marlyn and Margaret (Von Haden) Wagner at Tomah. He was a member of the Tomah High School graduating class of 1977. During high school he was very active in numerous sports teams — wrestling, football, cross country and baseball. Later he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point pursuing a degree in sports medicine. He was a former employee of Armstrong Creek Company, Vitran Trucking and Meadow Valley Log Homes and recently was employed by On Wisconsin Transport, Wilton, as a sales account manager. His great love of people and gift of “gab” made him a great salesman. Denny had a kind and loving spirit and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, baseball and golf, to name a few. He wrestled in high school and continued to be a big supporter of the local high school wrestling team. Closest to Denny’s heart was his love for his family and friends. His two daughters, Kendalle and Somer, were the joy of his world. Whether he was spending time cheering for his nieces and nephews at their sporting events or heading out to swing a few clubs, Denny always showed up with a smile on his face. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by two daughters, Kendalle Wagner of Madison and Somer Moffet of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Finley Paige; five siblings, David (Sandy) Wagner, Cathy (John) Komiskey, Sharon (Ed) Doyle, Susan (Wes) Winrich and Daniel (Nikki) Wagner, all of Tomah; his parents, Marlyn “Scoop” and Margaret “Muggs” Wagner, of Tomah; nieces and nephews Jenni, Mandy and Brent (fiancée Jessye Miller) Wagner, Matt (Michelle), Mark and Luke (Ashley Sheridan) Komiskey, Andy and Paul Doyle, Joshua (Rachel) Winrich, Sarah (Mark) Pierce and Darrik, Dana and Devan Wagner; several great-nieces and nephews; cousins; relatives; and many dear and special friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rudy and Nora Wagner; his maternal grandparents, Leo and Thelma Von Haden; two infant nieces, Megan Doyle and Becky Wagner; aunts and uncles, Gary, Jim and Ron Wagner, Don Von Haden, Jeanette and Cal Kaltsukis, Rick Hojek; and Betty Von Haden." .
