His occupation was "Capitalist." He appeared in the census in 1905 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ He and his wife were living with their son Fred. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ He and his wife were living with their son Fred. Michael died in 1916 at the age of 88.¹ He was buried in 1916 in Jacksonville, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Michael STAHNKE and Euphrosina "Cinna" KURZHAUS were married about 1857 in Preussen (Prussia).^2,5,6 According to the 1910 Census, they had 15 children, of whom 7 were living at the time. Euphrosina "Cinna" KURZHAUS¹ was born in 1838 in Preussen (Prussia).¹ (Her surname is spelled "Kurzhalz" in the church marriage record for her daughter Julie.) She emigrated in 1882 from Preussen (Prussia).² She appeared in the census in 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.² Cinna appeared in the census in 1905 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ She appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She was listed as "Cinna." She died in 1913 at the age of 75.¹ Cinna was buried in 1913 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.¹ in the Pilgrims Home Cemetery. (Her given name is spelled "Eupfrosine" in the cemetery records. Other sources spell it "Euphrosina.")
