89. Joseph Jerome "Joe" KUTCHER Jr. was born on 13 August 1923 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. According to his birth certificate, he was born at 9:15 pm and he and his parents were living at 7 Cedar Street. His father's occupation was listed as "Iron Worker," and his mother's as "Housewife." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Curtis Bay, Baltimore (Independent City), MD. After his father died in 1931, he lived at the St. Vincent's Orphanage because his mother had no means of financial support for their three children. He appeared in the census in 1940 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. He was living with his mother. According to the census, his "Highest grade completed" at the time was his 1st year of high school. Joe served in the military in the U.S. Navy between 31 March 1941 and 1944. He reported to the Receiving Station in Norfolk, VA in time for his date of sailing on 13 October 1941. He was stationed aboard the USS Ranger until 19 Dec 1943 at Quonset Point, RI, and was then transferred to the USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) on 28 May 1944. His rating was AM2c.

On 18 Aug 1944 he received a "change of rating" to the U.S. Naval Reserve at "RS NORVA FFT HEDRON FAW 12, NAS, KEY WEST, FLA." He lived at 326 Roosevelt Avenue in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, MD after 1955. In 1980 he was a retired electrician in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, MD. Joe died on 19 May 2011 at the age of 87 in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, MD. Obituary Notes: "KUTCHER, JOSEPH J., 87, of Glen Burnie, passed away (of pancreatic cancer) on May 19, 2011 at the Tate Hospice House. He was born on August 13, 1923 in Baltimore to his parents, the late Albina Svec and Joseph Kutcher. Joseph served in the US Navy during WWII and worked as an Electrician for the Federal Government.

He was a member of the Curtis Bay Athletics club and enjoyed reading, building furniture, gardening, and sitting in the sun smoking his pipe.

Joseph is survived by his loving daughters, Phyllis Merrill and her husband Alan, Muriel Bonucelli and her husband Reuban, and Susan Hollman; grandchildren, Joshua and Peter Merrill, Ed Morrell, and Michael and Marisa Hollman; great-grandchildren, Katherine Merrill and Parker Morrell. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillian Kutcher and son, Brian J. Kutcher.

Joseph Jerome "Joe" KUTCHER Jr. and Lillian Martha BLAHUT were married on 7 May 1948 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. at St. Rose Catholic Church in the Brooklyn section of Baltimore County. At the time of their marriage, his occupation was "Electrician's Helper" and hers was "Machine Operator." Lillian Martha BLAHUT, daughter of Karel J. BLAHUT and Angeline PARENSKI, was born on 2 June 1924 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. She appeared in the census in 1930 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. She appeared in the census in 1940 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. Lillian died on 9 March 2010 at the age of 85 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. (In June 2007, she suffered from kidney and heart problems and required an oxygen tank until her death.)

Obituary Notes: "On March 9, 2010, Lillian Martha Kutcher passed away at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was 85. Beloved wife of Joseph J. Kutcher for 63 years; Loving mother of Phyllis M. Merrill of Ferndale, Muriel A. Bonuccelli of Baltimore, Susan K. Hollman of Linthicum and the late Brian J. Kutcher. Caring sister of Charles Blahut, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Ruth Sterling of Pasadena and the late Robert Blahut and Helen Sands. Cherished grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 2.

Born in Baltimore, Lillian lived in Glen Burnie since 1957. She worked as a technician for Westinghouse for 15 years until she retired. Lillian enjoyed playing bingo. Born: June 2, 1924. Death: March 9, 2010."

. She was buried in Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, MD. in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Section 8, Plot 550. (She is in the same gravesite as her husband.)

Brian Joseph KUTCHER was born on 29 September 1951 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. He was educated before about 1979. He attended Anne Arundel Community College and received an Associate in Arts Degree. He then received an Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and a Masters of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. After 1979 he was in Severna Park, Anne Arundel County, MD. He served on the faculty of the Severn School. Brian died on 29 December 2004 at the age of 53 in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, MD. Obituary Notes: "Brian J. Kutcher, 53, of Severna Park, died Dec. 29 (2004) at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The cause of death was unavailable (liver disease). Mr. Kutcher was born in Baltimore on Sept. 29, 1951, and attended Duke University. He was a civilian employee of the federal government. He enjoyed sailing, soccer and lacrosse.

Surviving are his parents, Joseph J. and Lillian Kutcher of Glen Burnie, and three sisters, Phyliss Merrill of Glen Burnie, Muriel Bonucelli of Baltimore, and Susan Hollman of Eldersburg.

Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Highway SE, Glen Burnie, followed by the funeral services. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Talbot Mentors, 408 N. Washington St., Easton, MD 21601."
