Descendants of Jan Svec

Jan Svec was born in 1758 in Rukavec, Bohemia, in the present-day Czech Republic about 45 miles south of Prague. He and his wife, Anna Houser, are the earliest known ancestors of a branch of the Svec family that eventually emigrated from Bohemia and settled in Baltimore, MD, in the mid-1880’s.

One of Jan's fourth-great-granddaughters, Barbara Sharon Lee Serp, married Gary Griggs in 1963.
