Sharon Eletta VANDERVORT and Douglas R. "Doug" JENSEN were married on 16 August 1968.21,165,245 Douglas R. "Doug" JENSEN169, son of Roy JENSEN and Irene GULCZYNSKI, was born on 30 April 1947 in Mauston, Juneau County, WI.245 He died on 1 July 2011 at the age of 64 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.245 Obituary Notes: "Douglas R. Jensen, 74 of Tomah died Friday, July 01, 2011 at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse. He was born on April 30, 1937 to Roy and Irene (Gulczynski) Jensen at Mauston. He was a member of the New Lisbon High School Graduating Class of 1955.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Vandervort on August 16, 1958. They farmed on many different farms in the Hillsboro, New Lisbon, Mauston, and Wonewoc areas. He worked as an excavator for Ed Olson and drove semi trailers for Waymans in New Lisbon and Ben Leary in Tomah. Douglas worked at Keeneā€™s Transfer as a diesel mechanic for over 46 years. He enjoyed fishing and took fishing trips to Lake Powell, Utah, and the Sheboygan area. He also enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed repairing and fixing up old tractors. He was a patient man and a good teacher. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and cheered for the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, and Packers. He was a faithful member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working with his hands in his garden and watching things grow. Doug was a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon, three children, Mark Jensen of New Lisbon, Ann (Mark) Ptasienski of Stillman Valley, Ill., and Duane (Nita) Jensen of Plymouth; nine grandchildren, Brandon Jensen of Rockford, Ill., Luke Ptasienski of Stillman Valley, Ill., Ashlyn Ptasienski of Stillman Valley, Ill., Angela Oakley of Reedstown, Mark Jensen of New Lisbon, Shanda Slettan of New Lisbon, Katie Litkea of Montello, Jack Jensen of North Carolina, and Sam Jensen of Plymouth; seven great-grandchildren, Alleyia, Cameron, Riley, Jack, Wyatt, Gage, and Tenley; a sister, Lorraine (Jake) Tornga of Enterprise, Tex; two brothers, Glen (Margaret) of Reedsburg and Dennis of Tomah; three sisters-in-law, Vicki (Steve) Frampton of Ogden, Utah, Mary Vandervort of Arizona, and Vernie Vandervort of Tomah; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Merlyn Vandervort and Verlyn Vandervort.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, 11 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Tomah, 310 W. Elizabeth St. Tomah. Pastor William K. Rice and David Dahl will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 p.m.. until 8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service."
