(He and his family could not be located anywhere in America in the 1870 Census.) He appeared in the census in 1870 in Crete, Will County, IL.⁴ His occupation was "Farmer." (His surname was listed as "Tesk.") Charley appeared in the census in 1880 in Ash Grove Township, Iroquois County, IL.² His occupation was "Farmer." He appeared in the census in 1900 in Ash Grove Township, Iroquois County, IL.³ His occupation was "Farmer." He died on 3 March 1902 at the age of 76.¹ Charley was buried in Iriquois County, IL.¹ in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Karl "Charley" TESKE and Johanna "Anna" REHBEIN were married about 1854 in Preussen (Prussia).^1,3,5 According to the 1900 Census, they had eight children, of whom 6 were living at the time.
