Johann "August" TONN was born on 5 December 1848 in Jaraoz, Hanland, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2 He emigrated in 1871 from Preussen (Prussia).¹ In June 1874 he was a blacksmith in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.² August died in 1934 at the age of 86.³ He was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ in the Wilton Hillside Cemetery.

Johann "August" TONN and Amelia "Millie" HOFFMANN were married on 12 June 1874 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,2,4 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Amelia "Millie" HOFFMANN, daughter of Christoph HOFFMANN and Anna Louisa PFARR, was born on 20 January 1857 in Wisconsin.^2,3,5 (Her given name is listed as "Augusta E." in the cemetery records.) She appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She was confirmed on 21 March 1872 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.² at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Millie died in 1941 at the age of 84.³ She was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ in the Wilton Hillside Cemetery.
