August Simon VIETH Sr. was born in December 1856 in Preussen (Prussia).⁶ He emigrated in 1885 from Preussen (Prussia).⁶ He appeared in the census in 1900 in Sheldon Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ August died before 1910 at the age of 54.¹¹ Their children were living by themselves during the 1910 Census, so they may have died before then.

August Simon VIETH Sr. and Louise Wilhelmine LUTKE were married in 1885.^6,30 Louise Wilhelmine LUTKE was born in March 1865 in Germany.⁶ She emigrated in 1885 from Germany.⁶ She appeared in the census in 1900 in Sheldon Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ Louise died on 24 September 1907 at the age of 42 in Monroe County, WI.³¹
