2. Bartholomeus VROOMAN (^) was born in 1590 in Leiden, Zuid (South) Holland, The Netherlands.² Holland is actually a part of The Netherlands, which consists of 11 individual parts. Those parts--along with their major cities--are: Noord (North)-Holland -- Haarlem; Zuid (South)-Holland -- The Hague (Den Haag); Zeeland -- Middelburg; Friesland -- Leeuwarden; Groningen -- Groningen; Drenthe -- Assen; Overijssel -- Zwolle; Gelderland -- Arnhem; Utrecht -- Utrecht; Noord-Brabant -- 's Hertogenbosch; and Limburg -- Maastricht.

He died after 1647 at the age of 57 in Leiden, Zuid (South) Holland, The Netherlands.^1,3

Bartholomeus VROOMAN (^) and Kathlyntje REBOUTZ (^) were married about 1613 in Of Leiden, Zuid (South) Holland, The Netherlands.^1,2,4 The first two sons of Bartholomeus Vrooman residing in the New World left no descendants, and the Vrooman family here descended from the third brother, Hendrick Meese Vrooman. Hendrick's five children accompanied him to the New World in 1664. Kathlyntje REBOUTZ (^) was born about 1594 in Of Leiden, Zuid (South) Holland, The Netherlands.¹
