Descendants of Friedrich Waege

Friedrich Waege and his wife, Johanne Luisa Zimdahl, were born in about 1800 in Prussia. Their son, August Friedrich Ferdinand Waege was born in 1826. He and his wife, Dorothea Wilhelmine Kamrath, and their two oldest children emigrated to America in 1863 and settled in Wilton Township. A third child was born there. The children married into the Schwartz, Gnewikow, Boetzel and Schultz families.

All of the Waege families in Monroe County descend from Ferdinand and Dorothea.

The Waege family became connected to the Pergande family in the Tomah area when Ferdinand's great-grandson, Harold "Buck" Waege, married Doris Loretta Pergande in 1941.
