1. Eduard "Edward" WAPPLER Sr. was born on 2 February 1845 in Sachsen (Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,3 He emigrated in 1866 from Preussen (Prussia).^4,5 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ Edward appeared in the census in 1900 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ His occupation was "Farmer." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ He was living with his son Albert and his family. He died on 22 September 1932 at the age of 87.² Edward was a shoemaker in Germany.⁴ He was buried in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.² in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Indian Creek.

Eduard "Edward" WAPPLER Sr. and Friederike "Frieda" MARTEN were married.⁴ Edward Wappler was one of the founders and helped to build St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Indian Creek, near Clifton, WI. Friederike "Frieda" MARTEN, daughter of Christian Friedrich MARTEN and Dorothea TEU, was born on 4 August 1851 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province, Preussen (Prussia).^2,5,6,7 (She was listed as "Friederike Behrens" in the baptism record of her son Carl.) She emigrated in 1868 from Preussen (Prussia).⁵ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ Frieda appeared in the census in 1900 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She died on 24 September 1915 at the age of 64 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,6 She was buried on 28 September 1915 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,6 in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Indian Creek.
